CLO #2

Enhance strategies for reading, drafting, revising, editing, and self-assessment.

In Writing for Engineering, the class was required to send drafts and participate in peer reviews, often. There were discussion boards where either students or groups of students would send drafts of their assignments and other students/groups would give commentary of what they thought of the drafts and how it could be improved upon. After reading the feedback, we would go back and revise what we had written in accordance with the feedback and anything else we may feel like needs to be changed in our writing. This process helped us understand how to hone our pieces of writing and why it is important to do so. In addition, this taught us how to give and use criticism properly. These are important skills to have as an engineer when it comes to technical writing, because while this is in the context of a college course, we will need these skills as an employee, where not properly honing your technical writing to be as clear and concise as possible has more serious consequences.
